“When we truly see the human condition, we come to know that we are not really alone…”
— Robyn D. Walser

Abby is a clinician in Training at Hiseler, Kelly & Associates and a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She is currently completing her Master of Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from Queen’s University.

Abby works alongside individuals looking for support navigating life’s challenges, emotional distress and periods of transition and change. She is committed to creating a space that is warm, safe, compassionate and non-judgemental where clients feel respected, heard and supported in exploring their experiences and working towards meaningful and sustainable change.

Abby brings over 6 years of experience in community and non-profit mental health settings, where she has supported adults struggling with acute distress, high-risk suicidality, anxiety and complex psychosocial needs. Her professional background includes crisis intervention, suicide risk assessments, safety planning, brief case management, and collaborations with local hospitals and community agencies. These experiences have guided her calm, empathetic and grounded approach to client care.

Abby uses a strengths-based, trauma-informed and client-centred approach to her work, emphasizing collaboration and respect for each client’s unique lived experience. Some of the concerns Abby works with include anxiety, stress, self-esteem, life transitions, and tailoring her approach to suit each client’s unique goals, needs and values.

Abby utilizes various evidence-based approaches in her work, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and trauma-informed perspectives. She focuses on building emotional awareness, resilience and self-compassion, while also honouring each client’s pace and capacity for change.

Abby is supervised by Agata Wesolowski, MSW, as part of her ongoing training and professional development.
