“Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow.” - Mary Anne Radmacher

Sometimes life’s difficulties overwhelm our usual ways of coping and we find ourselves weighed down, struggling, exhausted, perhaps even defeated or isolated, like there is no one around us who really gets it. I hold deeply the belief that it is okay not to be okay. With compassion and curiosity about your unique experiences, we can explore a collaborative comfortable space for you to explore what is going on for you.

I’m a social worker registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I have a Bachelors of Science, with a major in Neuroscience and a Honours Bachelors and Masters of Social Work from Lakehead University. I also hold a graduate certificate in Addictions & Mental Health from a speciality program at Humber College. I have helped many adults address a wide range of mental health concerns as well as problems we encounter in daily life. Common focuses for treatment include: relationship challenges, difficulties coping with emotions, stress, trauma (including post traumatic stress disorder and occupational stress injury), anxiety, depression, self-forgiveness, self-esteem, and major life transitions. I have worked with people from a variety of identities; including post-secondary students, working professionals, military, veterans, and first responders.

My passion is to help others gain new perspectives over old patterns in their life that may no longer serve them. As my client, to support your growth and goals, we will explore deeper into yourself for increased understanding. This can include exploring how difficulties we experience in childhood can impact our adult selves. Sometimes therapy will involve the discomfort of exploring emotions in order to fully process and move beyond your current difficulties.

From the beginning we will work together to develop a comprehensive and holistic plan to meet your needs. I work from a number of research supported approaches including: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Psychodynamic Therapy among others. I also incorporate techniques around mindfulness, harm reduction, trauma-informed practice, strength-based approaches, and solutions focused interventions.

I look forward to working with you!
