Agata is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), as well as the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). Agata completed her Bachelor of Science at Trent University where she majored in Psychology and Sociology; she obtained a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto with a double specialization in Mental Health and Health, as well as Addiction Studies. Agata possesses over 10 years of mental health and addictions experience providing direct-client service and group interventions.
Agata works alongside adults looking for relief from new stressors or long-standing challenges. She also provides consultation/supervision to local mental health agencies, mental health professionals, specialized individual and/or group consultation for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) practitioners, and as an EMDR Therapy Consultant In Training (CIT) she assists with EMDR Therapy basic training. Her focus includes psychological trauma/PTSD and addiction. Agata also has an interest in supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, dissociation and/or living with personality disorders. Agata views therapy as a collaborative process rooted in respect, compassion, and patience. She believes it is meant to invite your strengths and build resilience to increase a sense of flexibility in your life. Agata approaches therapy by cultivating a non-judgmental space for your self-exploration and pursuit of goals.
Agata provides evidence-based therapeutic interventions focusing on the intersection of physical sensations, emotions, and thoughts. She is a Somatic Experiencing™ Practitioner (SEP), as well as a Certified EMDR Therapist and offers EMDR Intensives. Agata is formally trained in Ego State Therapy (EST), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Clinical Hypnosis. Agata approaches her therapeutic relationships with an anti-oppressive, culturally-humble, attachment and polyvagal-informed foundation.
