Everyone encounters bumps, sometimes mountains, along the road. Whether navigating relationship challenges, intense emotions, past experiences, or a general sense that something isn’t quite right, Sam is committed to exploring changes that are meaningful to you. She will work with you to witness your journey and co-create new stories that support your hopes, dreams and goals. There is no one-size-fits-all. She is dedicated to exploring changes in ways that are meaningful to you.

She started her journey by completing a Social Service Worker diploma at Seneca College, then a Bachelor of Social Work at Trent University, and a Master of Social Work at York University. She has worked at various community mental health organizations across Durham Region and Peterborough. Her roles have included case management, counselling, and developing and facilitating support groups and psychoeducational workshops. She has supported individuals living with a range of mental health concerns and struggles, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma and other neurodiversities.
Her practice is guided by a love of learning and a strong commitment to equity. She is inclusive of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and approaches her work with empathy, warmth, and curiosity. Her therapeutic style is flexible and client-centred, drawing on Narrative Therapy and other evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). She is trained in the Gottman Method Level 2 to work with couples. Her work is grounded in trauma-informed care, and she deeply believes in the importance of community, connection, and collaborative healing.
Outside of professional life, Sam seeks adventure and approaches the world with humour and care. She can be found hiking, canoeing, and camping, playing sports such as softball and roller derby, and diving into board games that are often far more complicated than they need to be. She loves creative pursuits, including painting, crocheting, and exploring any new craft she can get her hands on."
