Angelique is a skilled and competent Registered Social Worker (#828263) with the Ontario College of Social Workers having obtained a Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Windsor. She possesses over 10 years of mental health and addictions experience providing direct-client service, crisis intervention, course instruction, and supervision. She understands that each individual is a product of the systems, environments, and relationships in which they belong.
In addition to providing therapy to clients who present with issues such as depression and anxiety, Angelique has a keen interest in the treatment of trauma/PTSD. She has worked extensively with first responders (Correctional Officers, Paramedics, Police Officers, and Veterans), individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder, and individuals struggling with emotional regulation challenges. Angelique also has worked with individuals experiencing mood/emotional dysregulation concerns post-concussion.
Utilizing a trauma and attachment informed approach, she draws upon evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic approaches to effect change. Angelique remains committed to professional development and has recently completed Level 1 training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy) through the Niagara Stress and Trauma Clinic.
Employing a straightforward, non-judgmental, and compassionate approach, Angelique is focused on assisting individuals in meeting their personal therapy goals. Angelique works collaboratively with clients, supporting them to gain a sense of control and direction in their lives. Individuals will gain insight into the factors that have contributed to their difficulties and learn the skills necessary to develop satisfying relationships and achieve their life goals.
